Spring Round-Up

We're a little behind on spring event round-ups but thought a post-Easter commentary would be the perfect place to jump back in!

We are very happy to report that Michigan weather has started to treat us well! We've been spending a lot of time outdoors watching Anna ride her tricycle and or scooter and play at the park down the block. In fact, she often rides / scoots her way to the playground herself - with us in tow, of course!

Taking a few steps back though, we had a lot of activity in March! After I came back from London, we had a lovely visit from my cousin, Reyner who flew from the Philippines to visit with a client in Boston. Aside from breaking his camera by spilling beer on it - he appeared to have a great time!

Who knows if this was pre or post camera breakage!!

We also celebrated my Mom's birthday! It is so timely that my sister in law was in town to help us celebrate and we've even had the opportunity to hang out with her a bit. She ALSO celebrated her birthday and humorously enough, requested a DENNY's birthday breakfast since she misses that when she's back in Taiwan. HA!

Pre yummy sushi birthday lunch :)

Some Lola Love!

Sasa has also been enjoying the weather and has finally gotten a chance to have regular 'fetch' sessions with his tennis ball OBSESSION. Time at the park allows us to bask in the glory of 'home' life (hahaha) -- Anna waves to our neighbors, she plays with kids across the street, she loves doing yard work and gardening. In short, we seem to be living quite the all-American suburban life.

Anna races to the park!

Big difference is that we have DIVERSITY! In terms of both socio-economic and racial diversity, our neighborhood has it all. In fact, in Anna's neighborhood gang (can I use that term? ;) ), they're all kids-of-color. How funny is that?

Squeezing my darling girl :)

Sasa's handsome profile! hahahah

His ball obsession...

Park madness!

"Should I jump? Should I not jump? Oh boy!!"

Our little monkey is quite the climber...

Coaxing (ie tricking) Sasa onto the wobbly bridge.

ANYWAY -

For Easter, we had a celebration marathon of sorts. We had a little Easter celebration at our house and surprised Anna with some non-sweets sweets for her Easter basket :)

The fuzzy HELLO KITTY Easter basket!

Pastel colored egg, anyone?!

Risky playground action in beautiful Easter dress before brunch!

Always dancing...

We then made our way to my parents' house and had a lovely brunch of roasted Lamb. My sister-in-law (who is in country finishing up her PhD) and two of her very sweet friends were also in attendance.

And to round out the Easter Madness we made our way to Z's grandparents and Anna met up with her beloved 'boys' :) What a great day! We're sorry we just missed getting a chance to chat with Anna's godfather with whom ever since, we've been playing phone tag!

The 'boys' - man, there's a TON of 'em!

Over all we're so grateful for SPRING and per usual, each other. Most of you know that Michigan is in dire straights right now and Z and I are so thrilled to be employed with thriving companies. We're really making the most out of our current situation here as you never know what the future will bring - we're so privileged to be optimistic about the future!

Enjoy the rest of the picture round-up!

Anna is more skilled with writing, etc. :)

Dancing QUEEN!
